argodesign’s Mark Rolston Speaks at 2016 Hyper Wellbeing Conference
Mark Rolston, founder and chief creative officer of argodesign, spoke at the 2016 Hyper Wellbeing Conference in Silicon Valley. The event brought together innovative leaders in areas like healthcare, medicine, genomics, fitness, wellness, computational biology, Big Data, Internet of Things, and AI.
Hyper Wellbeing centered around wellness as a service with consumer technologies like wearables and mobile. Topics focused on how these technologies are powering a revolution that is turning health and wellness into a platform of delivered services, enabling consumer data-driven disease risk reduction, and extending health care to wellness and lifestyle optimization.
Rolston spoke about the emerging digital self at a time when every person, place, and thing is being written about, annotated, digitized, and automated. Machine learning is being used to connect, understand, and influence our digital selves, what Rolston calls the “Meta Me.” While we’re off working or enjoying the real world, computers are communicating with each other — and even directly with our digital selves –to serve us better. Rolston’s talk explored what happens to our identities when ubiquitous computing, invisible interfaces, and machine intelligence converge.
